Here’s the info from Scientific American: A sea hare secretes purple ink to confuse and repel nearby predators. New research shows that these secretions also mimic the stimulatory properties of food, giving would-be predators a decoy meal to pursue, thereby adding another layer of defense for these squishy molluscs.
